Description
Monk Blessed Authentic 8mm Howlite Stone Buddhist Mala Beads Necklace with Silver Guru Bead
Howlite is a naturally occurring stone recognized by its white or ivory appearance and distinctive grey or charcoal veining. Because it is a natural stone, each bead can have slightly different markings and patterns, making every Howlite Mala unique. These Howlite Buddhist Mala Beads are traditionally arranged with 108 beads and can be used for Buddhist prayer, Japa meditation, mantra practice and mindfulness. They can also be worn as a Buddhist Mala Necklace when not being used for meditation.
While the terms Buddhist Mala Beads and Buddhist Prayer Beads are often used interchangeably, the traditional purpose of a mala is to provide a physical way to count repetitions during prayer, mantra and meditation practice.

Howlite Protection Mala
Howlite Mala Beads are also used by some practitioners as a protection mala. For some people, wearing or carrying a Howlite Mala serves as a personal reminder to remain calm, centred and mindful in situations that feel challenging.
Howlite stone is said toÂ
~ Aids in the communication of one’s emotions
~ Assists with tolerance and patience
~ Decreases selfishness, resentment and rudeness
~ Discharges excessive stress and releases anger
~ Heightens self-awareness and desire for improvement
~ Facilitates proper rest and sleep
~ If placed beside bed, enhances dream recall
~ Aids in balancing calcium levels
108 Howlite Mala Beads for Meditation
A traditional mala contains 108 beads that can be moved individually through the fingers while reciting a mantra, prayer or other repeated practice. Moving from one bead to the next provides a simple physical point of focus and allows the practitioner to keep track of repetitions.
The 8mm Howlite beads provide a comfortable size for regular meditation and Japa practice. Their natural stone surface gives the beads a pleasant tactile feel as they are moved through the fingers.
After completing the 108 beads, the Guru bead marks the end of one complete cycle. The mala can then be turned around and used for another cycle rather than passing over the Guru bead.
The Meaning of Howlite
Howlite is widely used in modern meditation and spiritual practices and is often associated with calmness, patience and reflection. These associations come primarily from contemporary crystal and spiritual traditions rather than from established Buddhist teachings. For Buddhist practice, the significance of these beads comes from their use as a mala for prayer, mantra and meditation and from the personal meaning attached to the mala by the practitioner.
The simple white appearance of Howlite also makes it a popular choice for those looking for a natural stone Buddhist Mala that is suitable for both meditation and everyday wear.
Silver Guru Bead
This Howlite Buddhist Mala features a silver Guru bead at the centre of the traditional 108-bead arrangement. The Guru bead acts as a marker for the beginning and end of a complete cycle of 108 beads. During meditation, it provides a clear tactile and visual point at which to pause before beginning another round.
The silver Guru bead also gives the Howlite Mala a distinctive appearance when worn as a necklace, contrasting naturally with the white stone beads.
Blessed by a Buddhist Monk
Each Howlite Buddhist Mala is blessed by a Buddhist Monk in Thailand before being sent to the customer. The Monk blessing forms part of the traditional and personal meaning of the mala, connecting the finished Buddhist Mala Beads with the Buddhist practice of prayer, chanting and meditation. A Certificate of Authenticity is included with each mala.
The blessing is presented as a traditional Buddhist practice and personal spiritual connection, rather than as a guarantee of supernatural, medical or physical effects.
Each Howlite Buddhist Prayer Bead Necklace includes a Certificate of Authenticity
